Notes From The Grand Knight

 Greetings to all my Brother 

Knights at Co. 10170. We are in our 

busy time of the year within our 

council. We promised Fr. Bill we 

would help support parish functions. 

We had a great number of our 

Knights at the Mardi Gras party and 

I want to thank you for the support. 

 March 30th we are hosting a 

major degree at the Family Life 

Center. We will have all 3 degrees. I 

need help at this event. Everyone 

should dress appropriately for the 

occasion.  

 We are in the middle of our 

Lenten fish fries. We need all the 

help we can to run these events. 

These fish fries are how we raise our 

council funds for the year to do all 

the good things that we accomplish. 

If you cannot help at least come by 

and purchase dinners for your 

family. 

 April 11th, 12th, and the 13th 

is our Mental Retardation Drive. We 

need a lot of help from all the 

Knights. I know you will not let me 

down. 

 We always need new 

members to join our council. How 

many of you have sons or friends 

that you have never asked to join our 

Order. In my opinion we have the 

best council in the state but we need 

to grow to insure our future. 

 Our insurance agent is Kevin 

Patterson. His phone # 810- 695-

6352. If you have any questions 

please give him a call. They have 

many plans and have great programs 

and rates. Remember our Order was 

founded on taking care of widows 

and children. 

 Keep August 8th open for our 

Lug Nuts game. I will pass on the 

information as soon as I receive it to 

Jim Ballinger. Jim has agreed to 

chair this event and for this I want to 

thank him for helping me. 

 August 9th keep it open for 

our Bob LaBarge Golf Classic. We 

will need people to get teams signed 

up to play. We always have a good 

time and a good dinner. 

 I made a booklet on our 

"Pancakes with Santa". It contains 

articles and pictures of the event. I 

mailed it to the State Officers in 

consideration for the State Family 

Program award. 

 We will be well represented 

at the State Convention in May at the 

island. I am the 1st delegate and Tom 

Higgerson was elected the 2nd 

delegate. I received a letter from 

State Deputy George Dann 

appointing me to the Credential 

Committee at the convention. 

 

 In closing I want to thank 

everyone who attended the memorial 

for Marjorie Ecker. Lets keep Ed 

Ecker in our prayers during his time 

of grief.
