Notes From The Grand Knight

Our trip to see the lugnuts game in 

Lansing went very well. If you can 

go next year you will not regret the 

trip. The Honor Guard led the 

Bishop onto the field and he threw 

out the first pitch. The game had all 

the makings of a great family 

atmosphere. I want to thank Jim 

Ballenger for chairing this event. 

We had a tremendous turnout for our 

golf outing this year. I want to thank 

Cliff Van Overbeke for chairing this 

for me. I will be chairing this event 

next year along with Denny Owens. I 

have already started collecting prizes 

for next year. If you can pick up 

some donations please bring them to 

me as soon as possible. They do not 

have to be golf related.  

 

I attended a diocesan meeting in 

Mason and the tri-district in Grand 

Blanc. I need to thank the officers 

who attended with me to represent 

our Council. They stressed 

membership and the need for having 

1st Degrees. We need to recruit 10 

new members this year and I know 

you won't let me down. 

We had great attendance at our 

Corporate Communion. Thank you 

to the Honor Guard for being there 

when I need you. I just wish we had 

more people walk in as Families and 

all sit together as one big family.  

The Council purchased 2 tickets for 

the debt reduction raffle for Fr. Bill's 

birthday. Let’s all get behind this 

raffle and buy tickets. 

 

Sept. 7th is our Family Picnic. It 

starts at 1:00 pm. If you want to help 

out Sat. & Sun. be there at 10:00 am. 

On Sept. 13th & 14th we will be 

having our Blitz at all the Masses. I 

need to thank Jim Butler for setting 

up the speakers for every Mass. 

Have you asked your sons or 

grandsons to join the Knights. We 

will be trying to recruit new 

members and passing out to every 

person in the parish " How to pray 

the Rosary" that has all the new 

mysteries listed. You will be asked 

to help at whatever Mass you attend. 

Oct. 12th after the 10:00 am. Mass 

we will have Pancakes for the Parish. 

Later that day we will try to host a 

euchre tournament. 

 

On Oct. 4th Shirley's husband Bill 

will host a bonfire. Come meet all 

your friends and have a little fun. 

Please keep everyone on our prayer 

list in mind. Everyone drive safely 

over the holiday.
