Notes From The Grand Knight
By Ray LeTourneau,
Vivat Jesus
I would like to thank Fr. Bill and Fr. Gerald
for holding a healing service at our meeting.
Thank you brother Knights for all the
prayers said for me during my illness. I feel
great and I am ready to rock and roll again!
We had the Divine Mercy icon for 5 days. I
want to thank Dick and Dorothy Hubbard
for having a service at their home. The other
days I had it set up in the Perpetual
Adoration Chapel. Being the first to receive
the icon the meeting had passed and the
bulletin deadline had passed. The Divine
Mercy Chaplet is catching fire worldwide.
I spent the day in Mt. Morris at their council
for a major degree. Thank you Denny
Owens for all your help at the degree. We
had 1 candidate go through all 3 degrees. I
am proud to say he is my son- in-law. All
you people that are only 1st degrees should
have been there to finish your degree work.
Many people said they would be there and
did not show up. I reserved 10 places for
dinner so when you don’t show we still pay
for you. Let’s do better next time Brother
Knights.
We will be having a 1st degree on Dec. 2nd
at our council so if you sponsor a candidate
please try to get them there. We send out
letters and phone calls but as a sponsor you
should also remind them or even pick them
up for the meeting. We have a great Degree
Staff headed by Jim Dryfuse and I want to
keep these gentlemen busy. We need more
members Brother Knights, so let’s get on the
ball. I get more men that tell me they don’t
want to join until they get more time. All I
ask is 2 hours a year on one of our projects.
We have a Corporate Communion scheduled
for the 10:00 Mass on Nov. 23rd. The Honor
Guard has been invited to lead our families
into Church.
There is a blitz scheduled for Dec. 6th and
7th. We will need help at the doors at all the
Masses.
Dec. 16th will be our Christmas Dinner.
Doors open at 6:00pm. Dinner at 6:45. bring
desserts.
Dec. 20th will be our Pancakes with Santa.
This is a Saturday and will be at 10:00 am. I
received word from a reliable source that
Santa and his elves will be present to hand
out gifts.
Our Jan. fish fry has been moved to Jan 9th
because of the holiday and the 4th degree
will be on Jan. 16th.
At our Dec. 2nd meeting we will be voting
on our new amended by-laws which we had
to update to stay current with the Supreme
Council. The major changes were the
Financial Secretary pay was raised from 8%
to 10% to stay current with other councils.
The other one is being able to get $500.00
on one reading instead of $250.00. We will
discuss the amended by-laws and vote next
meeting.
Please keep in mind everyone on our prayer
list. The power of prayer especially when
we pray as a group is a tremendous thing.
Please drive carefully over the holidays.
From my family to yours we wish you a
very happy thanksgiving.
Fraternally yours,
Ray LeTourneau GK. Co. 10170
Remember, all knights and their
families can process in with the
Honor Guard and Celebrants at
